Pancakes, Costumes and Science!

20 March 2019

March has been so much fun so far. We have been very busy, and we are only half way through the month!

Everyone had lots of fun on pancake day. The Toddler Room had a great messy play day making their own pancake mixture. It was so much fun! The babies made slightly less mess with their pancake taste testing. We added different fruits as toppings and explored different tastes and textures. The Reception children managed to make their very own pancakes. They chose their own toppings and rolled their pancakes before taste testing them.

World Book Day was on the 7th March and both staff and children had fun dressing up as their favourite book characters. The costumes were amazing, thank you for everyone who took part.

Straight after World Book Day, we celebrated British Science Week. We explored mixing colours, and the movement of water and how it flows and runs down slides and tubes. We did lots of splashing and investigated gravity by pouring water and watching as it fell and landed. The Reception children made rain in a jar, and then made their own volcano using mentos and coke! The whole Nursery also took part in a bug scavenger hunt.

We still have lots of fun things planned for March. Tomorrow is World Down Syndrome Day so don't forget to come in your odd socks! We will be collecting for Cheshire Down Syndrome Support Group, a charity close to our hearts.
