I have worked for Evolution Childcare since 2004. I took a short break when I became a mum to my little boy who is now 4 years old. I started at The Stables as a Childcare Practitioner and worked my way up to Assistant Manager at Kalgarth Grange where I gained lots of experience with all ages of children. I have never had a favourite age as I love each new challenge and after a few years of enjoying my role I was then asked to manage The Stables. I love it here, I love my team, the children and the environment… it’s perfect. The Stables is like a home from home which we love sharing with our new families.
I have lots of qualifications and training certificates such as First Aid, Safeguarding, Prevent, British values, Food hygiene, EYFS, Management, Team Leadership and I am currently completing a course on Autism before finishing my Level 4 in Management, most of which I achieved through training with the company and all of which have proven beneficial within my role. I plan to continue learning new things every day and wouldn’t be able to do this without my amazing team that I am truly really proud of.
I have worked for evolution childcare for 8 years. In this time I have worked at two of our four nurseries and have worked in all rooms as a room manager, and have recently been promoted to Deputy Manager. I am also currently the nursery behaviour officer, this has given me the opportunity to work closely alongside all members off staff offering support and ideas, and also given me the opportunity to spend time in other rooms.
With evolution childcare I have gained additional qualifications in food hygiene, behaviour management, recognising and understanding children with special educational needs, first aid and team leadership and recently have just completed an understanding autism course.
I have worked within the Evolution Childcare company for over 17 years now and over that time I have gained great knowledge of all rooms from the ages of 0-5 following the EYFS curriculum. Throughout my time with Evolution Childcare I have gained my NVQ 3 and have had training on a regular basis to support me with in my role. I started with the company in 2004 and was a practitioner within the baby room. From this I knew that childcare was the best career choice I could have made, and each and every day I grew as a person.
It was a few years before I realised that I would love to further myself within the company so I decided to go for a room manager position. This was a success and I was given an opportunity to gain even more experience and qualifications. I became a room manager and fell in love with my role even more than before. I have now also been promoted to joint Assistant Deputy Manager. Seeing the children develop and grow from my care makes me thrive and want to be the best I can.
I started my Evolution childcare journey in 2016 as a student during my ‘Children’s Play, Learning and Development’ course as a placement. I was in the baby room studying that age range for 6 months until my placement was coming to an end when my Manager approached me for ean employment opportunity. Since then, I have worked in the Baby Room for a year and a half and was really enjoying watching them grow with their personalities and reaching their milestones. I was then placed into the Early Learner Room, where I was introduced to the slightly older children and starting to hear their conversations and looking at different stage activities and development. I was in the Early Learner Room for about 2 years and worked in close partnership with my Room Leader at the time, and learnt the workings of the room while enjoying the adventures of daily life with the children.
For the past year I have been in the Toddler Room where it has been a good balance of both rooms, where the children are starting to walk, talk and to create relationships with peers, which is so lovely to see. I’m so happy to have been offered the Room Manager role and to progress further within the company.
I have worked for Evolution Childcare for 2 and a half years. I qualified with a diploma in Childcare and Education in 2002. During my time at The Stables I have worked in all of the rooms, getting to know all of our children and families, which I have thoroughly enjoyed. During the last 12 months I have worked in our Baby Room working closely with my Head of Room to learn and gain more knowledge, before being recently promoted to Room Manager in Early Learners.
