Road Safety, Bread & Children In Need

19 November 2021

Between Road Safety Week, Bread Day, Children In Need and our usual games and activities, we have had an extremely busy (and fun-filled) week!

At the beginning of the week, we celebrated road safety week with the Reception room, discussing the importance of crossing the road with a grown up, holding their hands, looking both ways and using crossings and traffic lights to help us cross safely. The children had the car track out with the Happy Land toys and signs and they all took it in turns to be the vehicles or the lollipop person. The children then discussed if it was safe or unsafe for the Happy Land people to cross the road and what the job of the lollipop person was.

We also celebrated Bread Day with the toddlers, who put on their baking hats and aprons and joined in with lots of sensory (and messy!) play.

On Friday for Children in Need, we had fun with balloons, made our own Pudsey bears, and helped raise money by making our team dance or sing around the Nursery!!

We can't wait for next week when we start to get ready for Christmas and decorate the nursery with lots of our home-made decorations, all ready for when the Christmas Elves come to visit to Children!
